The Composition and Its Value

Abstract
This paper examines the composition and value of the episode in which
Darasa immolates herself in Bot Lakhon Ram Rueang Inao composed by Prince
Narathippraphanphong. The study finds that Prince Narathippraphanphong
adapted Inao composed by King Rama II into the play in order to perform his
Lakhon Ram. There are four techniques employed by the Prince to compose
the episode in Bot Lakhon Ram Rueang Inao: modification of the narration of
Inao of King Rama II; incorporation of descriptions, songs, and dialogues from
Inao of King Rama II; creation of descriptions as well as setting new songs
and dialogues in the play; and the addition of practical details that are useful
for the performance. As a result, Bot Lakhon Ram Rueang Inao by Prince
Narathippraphanphong contains value as a literary work as well as a script for
performance. Particularly, it indicates how the Inao dance drama of Prince
