เมตร ปรากฏรังราชินีมดแดงห่างจากล�าต้นเฉลี่ย 1.0 ± 0.7 มีขนาดความกว้างแตกต่างกัน การสร้างรังด้านในทรงพุ่ม
เมตร เนื่องจากต้นไม้ในแต่ละช่วงอายุจะมีการพัฒนา เพื่อความสะดวกของการขนย้ายไข่ ความปลอดภัย
ทรงพุ่มที่แตกต่างกันต้นไม้อายุน้อยจะพบการแตก ของรังราชินีจากพายุลม แต่อาจพบการสร้างรังราชินี
กิ่งก้านแคบ และมีใบติดล�าต้น เมื่ออายุมากการพัฒนา มดในส่วนปลายทรงพุ่มด้วยจากกรณีของการศึกษานี้
กิ่งก้านจะแผ่กระจายออกด้านข้าง ส่วนใกล้ล�าต้นมักจะ พบมดสกุล Crematogaster อยู่บริเวณกิ่งหลักที่อยู่ใกล้
ไม่แตกใบอ่อนและมีจ�านวนใบน้อย (Metzner, 1979; กึ่งกลางต้น ซึ่งมดกลุ่มนี้เป็นศัตรูกับมดแดง (Way and
Hilkenbäumer, 1983 and Robinson et al., 1991) การ Khoo, 1989 and Way and Khoo, 1992) ดังนั้นเพื่อความ
สร้างรังราชินีมดแดงจะอยู่ด้านในทรงพุ่มหรือใกล้กับ ปลอดภัยของราชินีมดแดงจากศัตรูจึงพบมีการสร้างรัง
กลางล�าต้น แต่ต้องเป็นบริเวณที่ใบไม้แตกใบในทรงพุ่ม บริเวณส่วนปลายของทรงพุ่มต้นไม้ด้วย
