ABSTRACT
The current study used questionnaire to collect data from 313 samples. The data from
semi-structured interview questionnaire and informal interview with community leaders were
combined. Data analysis was made by statistical package software to explain the socio-economic
characteristics, satisfactory level on headwater development project by department of National
Park, Wildlife and Plants, as well as its related factors using the following parameters; average,
percentage, score, t-test and F-test.
The results showed that the average age of people was 43 years old. The average residing
duration was 22 years. Most of the people was male (57.5%) and moved from the other area as
well as neighboring countries (76.4%). One-third of them were not educated while 41.9% were
graduated from primary school. Almost half of them (45%) had no own lands. Employee was the
main career (42.2%) following by agriculture (39.6%). The annual income was lower than 100,000
baht/family (75%). The perception level of headwater development project information was low
to medium. The satisfactory level on a project was high (average score = 4.17). The satisfactory
level was highest in natural and environmental resources restoration project (average score =
4.12) following with promotion and development on community participation in conserved forest
project (average score = 3.95) and forest land management project (average score = 3.24). The
significant influenced factors (p=0.005) on satisfactory level were education level and information
perception.
