Therefore, agricultural land in Thailand is current in crisis. There needs to be a new set of
policies that follow the basic principles. This research proposes that a specific policy for
agricultural land be developed, which is also integrated with other policies that aim at other types
of resources required for agricultural production. The proposed policy also takes into
consideration the government’s national policies and strategies, as well as successful cases from
overseas. The proposed policy encompasses six strategies, namely: (1) development of a national
land use plan, (2) protection of agricultural land, (3) conservation of agricultural land resources,
(4) increase in agricultural land productivity, (5) allocation of future farmland, and (6)
improvement of efficiency in managing agricultural land.
