The Forest Resource Assessment (FRA 2020) conducted by the Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with the Myanmar Forest
Department has indicated that Myanmar is still endowed with a forest covered area of 42.19%
of the country's land total area, one of the highest in the Asia-Pacific region. The status of forest
cover is shown in Table 3-2.
