ABSTRACT

The Objectives of this study were to determine community forest administration and
management, community socio-economic condition and relationship between socio-economic
factors and level of people participation to community forest management. The study employed
interview method as tool for collecting data from villager who living compass Phra Phutthabat Noi
community forest Amphoe Kaeng Khoi, Saraburi Province. The study area covered 2 Tombons, 4
villages which selected 84 household were sample. The Chi–square test was statistical techniques
to analyze relationship between socio-economic factors and lever of people participation at
significance level of 0.05.
The results of the study indicated that most of the respondents were average age of 31-40
years, education level was elementary school, main occupation was general hired, their income
were between 50,001-125,000 Baht per household per year and average expense was less than
50,000 Baht per household per year while, almost every household had a loan. Most of them
were landless farmer which know community forest regulation and, they always gain benefit from
community forest. Moreover, the study of relationship between socio-economic factors and level
of people participation indicated had no any factor accepted. Finally, strongly committee and
equally regulation were current condition of this community forest. Therefore, the encouragement
of create people organization is potential strategy to promote community forest administration
and management and people awareness.
