รูปแบบอาคารส่วนใหญ่ภายในวิทยาเขต จะสอดแทรกลักษณะสถาปัตยกรรมของท้องถิ่นทางภาคอีสานตอนบนไว้
กล่าวคือ ลักษณะอาคารเป็นรูป “สิม” คล้ายโบสถ์อีสาน มีรูปทรงเหลี่ยม ตรงกลางเป็นช่องว่าง ภายนอกของอาคารใช้ทราย
ล้างจากแม่น�้าโขงผสมกับเม็ดลูกรังของเชียงเครือ บางอาคารใช้หินทรายและศิลาแลงที่มีในท้องถิ่นมาแต่งประดับ
เพื่อให้กลมกลืนกับธรรมชาติแวดล้อม
The design of most buildings on the campus show an adoption of traditional architectural styles
of the upper Northeast of Thailand including “Sim” which refers to Esan-style tall building with rectangular
shape and empty space in the middle. Local materials including laterite, sandstone, and washed sand from
the Mekong River and were used for decorating the facades of some buildings.
